Philippe PERDRIX

Romain GRANDJEAN Associate, 38. After several successful entrepreneurial experiences in Africa and in the media, Romain founded 35°Nord in 2012 to improve his clients press relations and editorial influence. He believes that Africa’s emergence, embodied by its economic success and new governance, should gain better visibility via strong relations between the media and economic operators. Romain combines expertise in both the media industry and the African continent . Romain Grandjean is graduate in media management from ESCP Europe.

Philippe PERDRIX Associate, 48. Philippe gather many years of experience in the media in Africa where he founded a radio station in Burundi, anchored for Radio France Internationale (RFI) and finally became assistant editor-in-chief at Jeune Afrique. Convinced that Africa, France, and Europe’s share a common destiny, he believes in the the development of a new narrative established by a generation of African and European decision-makers via the leading media. As a cofounder of 35°Nord, Philippe provides his clients with solid expertise on African political and economic contexts. He helps them with developing as well as publicizing their advocacy efforts. Philippe Perdrix is a graduate in law and journalism.

  • Nicolas TEISSERENC
    Operations Director

    35. Specialized in the banking/financial, natural resource, and mass-market consumption sectors in Africa. An EMLYON graduate, he started his career as a journalist for Capital Finance (Les Echos) before becoming the editor-in-chief of African Banker and African Business (IC Publications). He then joined the Jeune Afrique group as the managing editor for the economic and financial news site. Nicolas joined the agency in 2014 and manages several large accounts. He specializes in press relations and also has solid expertise in the African business environment.

  • Joanne Stacy EYANGO

    23. Graduated from Sciences Po Paris in 2017. She grew up between Cameroon, Gabon, Tanzania, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, and France. Having gained experience at Jeune Afrique and Canal+, two major media outlets in Africa, Joanne has been helping 35°Nord clients manage their press and public relations since 2017. She has been the president of the Association des Étudiants Sciences Po pour l’Afrique (ASPA) for two years and is currently an active member of the board of Sciences Po Alumni Afrique.

  • Isabelle FINKELSTEIN

    59. Graduated from Pantheon Sorbonne University with a degree in public law. Her experience at Lagardère made her familiar with major press groups and with the private sector in general. She then put her skills to use for Médecins du Monde as communications director before holding the same position for the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) in 2011 under President Diouf. Having very close ties to Africa for nearly 20 years, Isabelle joined 35°Nord in 2018 to support the agency’s clients in their strategic and operational communication.

  • Samy GHORBAL

    44. Graduated from Sciences Po Paris in 1997 with a master’s in political studies. As a specialist in the Maghreb and Sub-Saharan Africa, he worked for the weekly magazine Jeune Afrique from 2000 to 2009 and from 2014 to 2017. After the Tunisian Revolution of 2011, Samy became the advisor to Ahmed Najib Chebbi in Tunisia. He later joined the public relations consulting firm Rivington in Paris as the international manager. Samy has been providing his expertise to 35°Nord’s institutional clients, public service division, and policies division since 2018.

  • Léonard LIFAR

    26. Léonard joined the team in 2017 to advise institutional and corporate clients in the mining, farming, and capital investment sectors. As a student at Paris Dauphine University (master’s) and Sciences Po Rennes, he worked with several think tanks specializing in geopolitics and security/defense. In 2015, he joined the Business France office in South Africa before joining the public affairs consulting firm GPLUS Europe. He is also a member of the Sub-Saharan Africa and North Africa and the Middle East programs at Open Diplomacy.

  • Jessica NGON KEMOUM

    21. Graduated from Sciences Po Paris in 2017. After gaining a bachelor’s degree in social science with a focus on Africa, she pursued a master’s in communications. She is also active in the Association des Étudiants de Sciences Po pour l’Afrique (ASPA) and holds the position of Secretary-General for Communications at Initiative For Africa (IFA). She later joined the communications agency Public Affairs Africa as a communications and branding consultant, joining 35°Nord’s digital division in June 2018.

  • Stéphie-Rose NYOT NYOT

    29. Graduated from the University of Montreal with a degree in international communications in 2015. She started her career at USAID in Ghana and spent more than five years abroad before joining UNESCO in Paris. In 2013, she created “Je parle le Bassa 2.0," a digital platform and mobile app that teaches Bassa, a regional language in Cameroon. Her course is now being taken by more than 12,000 people. Stéphie-Rose joined 35°Nord in 2016, where she manages the digital division for all clients. 

  • Raphaël ROSSIGNOL

    34. Graduated from ENS in 2004 and holds a doctorate in political and economic science from EHESS. A specialist in Chinese-African trade and military relations, he became the African strategic and CSR consultant for various French companies. He currently teaches at Sciences Po Lyon, NEOMA Business School, Paris III, and IRIS. He has helped develop programs for the 2017 China-Africa Investment Forum and 2018 Africa CEO Forum. He joined 35°Nord in 2017 to advise the agency’s institutional and political clients in strategy and content. Raphaël speaks Chinese.

  • Anne de POTIER
    Office Manager

    56. Graduated from Paris II with a master’s in econometrics. In 1987, she became the consulting manager for Havas Media, and in 1998, she created the Skyrock advertising agency, where she was the general manager until 2006. She then became the general manager of Régie Obs (Le Nouvel Observateur, Challenges, and Sciences et Avenir) and also helped relaunch the new France Soir in 2010. In 2012, Anne founded Medianne, the advertising agency for France Culture’s magazine, Rose Magazine et Papiers. She became 35°Nord’s office manager in 2017.
